An important monument is the Church of Nuestra Señora
La Real y antigua (14th century), that contains a delicate
transept from the 16th century.
Finally, the Route arrives in Burgos, a city that has always
been connected with Santiago´s Pilgrimage. Throughout
history there have been a total of 35 hospitals and refuges.
Its magnificent Cathedral, one of the most important in Spain,
offers many attractions to visitors such as chapels (Condestable,
Santiago, Cristo de Burgos), the Choir and some of the façades.
But the Cathedral is not the only monument in Burgos, since
the town is full of them: San Nicolas Church, the 14th-century
Mudejar Door, the Monastery of Huelgas Reales, which contains
many royal mausoleums and a Fabric Museum, the 12th-century
El Rey Hospital , the most ancient in town and the San Lesmes
Parish Church (15th-16th centuries).
