What to
do:
The Los Arcos climate is unquestionably one of its
greatest assets. This dry and sunny environment guarantees visitors the
chance to enjoy the natural surroundings and all types of open air
activities.
Another of the town’s indisputable attractions is its cuisine. Navarre
is famous for its dishes made with local fresh vegetable and other
produce, particularly the red peppers and asparagus that are so typical of
this area. If you get the opportunity, try some of the autochthonous
vegetables such as the cardoon or borage, without forgetting the delicious
pot-cooked fresh white beans.
Our restaurants also prepare some excellent meat dishes, and are renowned
for their succulent roasts, that are so traditional of this region. We
would recommend trying the delicious roast lamb.
No good meal is complete without a good wine and here, we are sure that
you will enjoy tasting the wines prepared and aged in our own wine cellars,
wines that are amongst the most appreciated in Navarre.
What
to see:
A simple walk will allow you to discover all the charm
of this beautiful town. Apart from its principal monument, the church of
Santa María, you can admire the doorways of Estanco and Santa María, the
latter is from the 17th century and has three noteworthy coats
of arms.
Also, if you go through the streets and squares you will find several 17th
and 18th century Baroque palaces and aristocratic houses.
Los Arcos also has three hermitages: the Calvario Hermitage – an 18th
century baroque building – the San Sebastián Hermitage and the San Blas
Hermitage.
We would also recommend a visit to the Convent of the Conceptionist nuns
and church.
